Blur part of an image online — hide a face, a licence plate, a house number or a name on a document while the rest of the photo stays perfectly sharp. PIXLFLW runs entirely in your browser: the picture you are censoring is never uploaded to a server, which is exactly what you want when the thing you are hiding is the reason you came here.

Two ways to choose the area

  • Brush — paint over what should disappear. The blur follows the stroke as you draw, and the brush size goes from a licence plate to a whole person.
  • Select object — tap the thing you want hidden and its outline is traced for you by a segmentation model that runs on your own device. No cloud, no account, no upload.
  • Eraser — went too far? Rub the selection back off. Nothing is destructive until you export.
  • Invert — one tick blurs everything except your selection, which is how you blur a background and keep the subject sharp.

Blur or mosaic

A soft blur looks natural in a photo you are posting. A mosaic reads as deliberately censored, and it is the safer choice for text: a light blur can sometimes be partly reversed, while heavy pixelation discards the detail outright. Both are the same tool here — one switch, and a strength slider that scales with the image, so what you see in the preview is what lands in the exported file.

How to blur part of a photo

  1. Drop an image into the upload area (formats: GIF, JPG, BMP, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, TIFF).
  2. Paint over the area with the brush, or switch to Select object and tap it.
  3. Tune strength and edge softness; tick Invert if you meant the background.
  4. Download the result as JPG or PNG — the blur is baked in, not an overlay.

Does it stay hidden at full size?

Yes. What is stored is your selection — strokes and outlines, not a screen-sized bitmap — so it is re-rendered at the photo's real resolution on export. Blur a face in a 12 MP photo and it is hidden in all 12 MP, with a feathered edge instead of a sticker-like patch.

Selective blur is a non-destructive pipeline step: reopen it, move the selection, change the strength or drop it entirely at any point before you export. The original file on your disk is never modified.
