Change the canvas size of an image online: add margins or a colored border around a photo, extend the background to fit a required frame, or trim the canvas without scaling the picture itself. PIXLFLW does it all locally in your browser — your image is never uploaded anywhere.
What you can do
- Expand the canvas — add padding on any side, e.g. to turn a rectangular photo into a square for Instagram without cropping it.
- Pick the fill color — white, black, or any custom color for the new area.
- Anchor the image — keep your photo centered or pin it to a corner or edge of the new canvas.
- Shrink the canvas — cut the visible area without resampling the pixels.
How to change canvas size
- Drop an image into the upload area (formats: GIF, JPG, BMP, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, TIFF).
- Set the new canvas width and height in px, %, mm, in and choose the fill color and anchor.
- Download the result as JPG or PNG.
Canvas size is different from resizing: resize scales the picture itself, while canvas size changes the area around it. For scaling, use the resize tool from the list below.
