Color Matching with PIXLFLW
Why Use Color Matching?
Color matching allows you to transfer the color palette and mood from one photo to another. This is particularly useful for creating consistent color grading across a series of photos, matching the style of a reference image, or achieving a specific artistic look. Whether you're working on a photo series, trying to match colors between different shots, or simply want to apply a specific color mood to your images, color matching provides a powerful solution.
How Color Matching Works
PIXLFLW uses advanced histogram matching algorithms to analyze the color distribution of a reference image and apply similar color characteristics to your processing image. The tool supports two algorithms:
- Global Algorithm: Matches the overall color distribution across all channels (L, a, b in Lab color space)
- Shadow Anchor Algorithm: Preserves shadows while transferring color characteristics from mid-tones and highlights
How to Use Color Matching:
- Upload a reference image (the image with the desired color palette)
- Upload the image you want to process
- Choose an algorithm (Global or Shadow Anchor)
- Adjust the matching coefficient to control the intensity of color transfer
- Fine-tune advanced parameters if using Shadow Anchor algorithm
- Download the processed image
