Make a passport size photo from an ordinary photo
A passport photo is really two requirements at once: an exact frame — 35 × 45 mm for most of the world, 2 × 2 inches for the United States — and an exact pixel size the upload form will accept. A phone photo has neither, and stretching it into the box distorts the face, which is one of the most common reasons an application is rejected. Pick your document below and PIXLFLW sets both for you: the crop frame is locked to the right shape and the resize is fixed to the right pixel count, so all you do is place the frame over the face and download.
Everything happens on your device
Passport photos are identity documents. Here they are never uploaded: the file is opened, cropped, resized and encoded inside your browser, so nothing is queued on a server, stored in a temporary folder or seen by anyone. That is also why it is instant — there is no upload to wait through on a slow connection.
Exam and government portals: the size in KB matters too
Indian portals in particular ask for an exact frame and a JPG under a hard byte cap — 20 to 50 KB for SSC and Voter ID, 10 to 200 KB for NEET. Those pages arm the download budget as well, and the encoder searches for the highest quality that still fits, reducing the pixel count only if quality alone cannot get there. You always see the real byte count before you save.
About backgrounds
This tool crops, resizes and compresses. It does not remove or replace the background, and no honest tool turns a snapshot taken against a bookshelf into an official white-background photo without visible artefacts around the hair. Take the picture against a plain, evenly lit light wall, standing far enough away that no shadow falls behind you, and then size it here.
Printing a sheet
The file this page produces is a single photo at the exact document size. If you need a 4 × 6 inch sheet of several copies to print at a shop, export the single photo first and place it into a sheet layout afterwards — starting from a correctly cropped, correctly sized photo is what makes the printed copies valid.
